the Fine Line between using your own performer equipment and using onstage equipment
i have a problem setting up my own performances using onstage equipment. 😟
it's like the reverse idea of how i design and maintain my own setup.
i ideally want to control everything from my own setup and feed it to the venue's PA system.
but there always seems to be hitch, and the sound control doesn't duplicate the sound of my own equipment.
in the latest scenario, i played onstage at a festival.
since my monitor which sends out the final mix of all my instruments and pedals, i wanted them to feed a DI out from my monitor to their mixing board. instead, they chose to stick a microphone in front of my monitor. and i'm sure that's the reason the sound was echoing and feeding back.
